Sabores San Miguel
By Angela Lewis Serrano
Sabores San Miguel is a culinary festival that will gather the culinary community of San Miguel de Allende to promote local restaurants and producers, showing the gastronomic local scene to the rest of Mexico.
Sabores San Miguel will be held in the Parque Juárez June 14, 15 and 16 as part of the Municipality initiative “San Miguel Gourmet.” It will include food tastings, wine tastings, demonstrations, lectures, live music, children’s activities and other festivities. We are inviting restaurants, wineries, artisans and producers to participate in the three-day event to promote and sell their products. The festival kicks off on Friday with the inauguration of the event. On Saturday, the restaurants will offer samples of “Gourmet Food” to showcase the style of their restaurant and Sunday the theme will be “World Street Food” to recreate the outdoor food markets worldwide as a tribute to street food. All tastings will be sold at 20 pesos — food and drinks.
The purpose of Sabores San Miguel is to promote San Miguel as a culinary destination, including local restaurants, producers of bread, cheese, olive oil, wine, beer, mezcal, meat and local organic producers. We want to extend an invitation to the community of San Miguel to participate. If you want to be part of Sabores San Miguel contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. The goal of this festival is to show the culinary history and gastronomic heritage of San Miguel. We want to expose the cuisine of San Miguel to a wider audience, to highlight and promote the richness of local ingredients and to promote a first class event for the city that adds to the attraction of San Miguel.
