We are lucky dogs!

By Phylis Collier

First, Adopciones de Amigos has to thank our good luck charm, Natalie Golay, who found our new home… the one we have been searching for the last five months!

Yesterday as we drove to the location we were all so nervous that this would be another dead end! Yet when they opened the gate we knew we had found our home. The area is huge and since it is walled in, the dogs can have free time to run and play in perfect safety.

The house needs work but our new benefactors realize that and have offered to get the repairs done so that we can have a functioning clinic — as we have said, there are angels among us! They even told the vets to consult with their workmen to get their surgical room like they want it. Just think — running water inside and out, a private inside bathroom, real electricity. We were dancing!

This is a great home for Adopciones de Amigos and Amigos de Animales who will now have the clinic they have wanted for the last seven years. It is a wonderful location in San Rafael, full of life and people who will benefit from low-cost vet services, and find the perfect dog or puppy that will be waiting for adoption.

We want everyone to know how excited we are and, hopefully, we will be in the Jardin next week to start advertising our new venture. We will hand out flyers with maps (we move in one month!) and we will thank everyone who knew of our need to find a new home, everyone who tried to help, and everyone who said “I’ll say a prayer for you” —because, guess what, it worked!
