Los Senderos to launch social programs

At the local business/development Los Senderos, headed by Francesca Fisher, a new project to support at-risk youth as well as increase security and promote tourism is underway. Fisher, along with her co-workers, formed a civic association, CHISPA, through which they plan to start a project combining equestrian arts, circus and scene design with rehabilitation and crime prevention programs. Young people between 14 and 20 years of age will be selected to participate. The young participants in this rehabilitation program will become part of the show, and the process will be documented in a reality show that will document their transformation.
Fisher commented that they will have a team of professionals riders, trainers, technicians, artists and designers, among them Alain Gauthier (creative director of Cavalia/Oddisseo Shows and Cirque du Soleil), Jorge Barajas Rocha (producer), and Grant Major and Mike Mizrahi (Oscar winners for special effects in The Lord of the Rings). Francesca said that this project will have a good impact on the economy. “New industry and sources of work will be created, related to the technical and artistic production, maintenance, horse care, souvenirs and gastronomy. They will achieve financial stability and will have their pride back. They will have high ideals and will provide strength to the community,” she concluded. A preview of the show will be introduced at the end of this year.
Along with this, in a couple of months the programs “Recipe for Success” and “The Flavor of San Miguel” will be presented, supporting outstanding students from gastronomy schools from San Miguel and other cities. Groups of five aspiring chefs will work hand in hand with chefs from some of the better restaurants in town during the week, gaining experience and skill. On the weekends, they will work together on exclusive menus that will be presented at the bistro at Los Senderos, which will feature special shows and parties.
