“Mexican Masks, a Personal Look”

Carmel, California, artist Dick Crispo has been coming to San Miguel de Allende since 1972. As an artist, he has been heavily influenced by Latin American themes, and held the position of American Cultural Specialist for Latin America for the State Department in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Twice winner of the Arts America award and grant, winner Pan American Graphics 1966, Mexico City, and numerous other awards. The masks were done in San Miguel last year. There are a total of 48 masks, done in graphite and watercolor.
