St. Patty’s benefit event for Casa de los Ángeles
By Kay Miller
Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with an entertaining afternoon of music, munchies, margaritas and free massages, all for the benefit of Casa de los Angeles! It will be an event you cannot miss! Our celebration will be hosted by Bill and Heidi LeVasseur at Casa de la Cuesta, the magnificent B&B that overlooks downtown San Miguel de Allende. They will serve delicious hors d’oeuvres, provide sing-along entertainment, as well as a chance to leisurely explore their world class mask museum. Raved about by San Miguel locals and visitors alike, these events have become legend–our last event had over 100 attendees!

Special entertainment: Irish Sing-along with Jim Wright, Morganna Kelly and friends
Canadian singer Jim Wright, Irish lassie Morganna Kelly and a few of their pals have promised a sing-along of Irish songs to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, an event much beloved in San Miguel. They’ll be performing in the outside courtyard where all can gather, join in, or just enjoy the merrymaking with a cold margarita in hand!
In addition, Ruth Argüello Medina, owner of San Miguel Massage, will be giving free mini massages to any and all of our attendees at our event this month. Come stop by to receive a relaxing, professional massage while you listen to beautiful Irish music!
As always, Casa de la Cuesta promises a boatload of delectable food and limitless margaritas. And not to be missed is the mask museum, The Other Face of Mexico, a real San Miguel treasure. So, in celebration of the day, we’re asking participants to wear a bit of green and come with a festive and generous spirit. This should be a special San Miguel afternoon to remember!
Casa de los Ángeles is a safe haven for the children of mothers who come from the outskirts of town to work or to sell their wares at the local mercado. Often these children were being left home alone before this center was established. Casa de los Angeles has grown to be a community center in which mothers find the support they need to make a better life for their families. Besides helping with their children, these families receive medical care, clothing distribution, scholarship opportunities, transitional housing, food bank…all done in a relationship of mutuality that respects the dignity of each individual.
