Allow me to introduce myself. I’m a French /American singer/songwriter. My name is Jean Pascal Monzies. In town most people know me as Pascal. Some of you may have heard me play popular songs in French, English and Spanish with guitarist Rolando Gótes at the Brasserie restaurant (the Parroquia Café during the day). I’m inviting you now for a one-of-a-kind experience: to hear my original work! The “Songs in my Suitcase” concert will take place on Thursday, February 21 at the Shelter Theater at 7pm. Tickets are available at the Biblioteca. A little background: I was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, in an artistic family and for as long as I can remember I was encouraged to be creative. We moved periodically between France and the US and therefore, I grew up listening to both European and American music, which undoubtedly has influenced my style. When I began playing guitar at age nineteen, I discovered a whole world of creative possibility. My songs are essentially about experiences that have touched me. No matter where we come from, or where we’re going, themes such as love, loss, hope and the wonder of being alive can move us all. I’ve written these songs all through my journeys and now it’s time to open up my suitcase and enjoy the show! Prepare yourself for an unforgettable moment!
