De La Parra was formed artistically in the Architecture Department of the UNAM, taking different drawing courses with models, mixed media painting classes at the Bellas Artes School in San Miguel de Allende, acrylic painting classes in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and composition and collage classes in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Houston, Texas. She has mixed all these techniques into her own work that she has exhibited in Mexico and the United States.
Her artwork is being exhibited throughout San Miguel, Querétaro and Mexico City galleries, where one can verify the exceptional control of materials and subjects where composition, color, and harmonic control of images and forms stand out.
“Patricia’s work displays a great variety of idioms that translate into color and form, both in abstract as well as in a strong personal interpretation.
With these tools she approaches man in his present and past environment, emerging into a series of diverse characters in many of her paintings.
Her work is complemented by collage where previous images are invented by her hands transforming and creating them into a rich variety of new images.”
