Happy second birthday, Camino Silvestre!
By Jade Arroyo
Camino Silvestre, a store that features a range of products for the home and garden, is a favorite shopping destination for residents and visitors. In December, the shop celebrated its second anniversary. Weekend after weekend, a series of receptions spiced up with champagne and petit fours were offered for everyone to enjoy, and several Mexican and international artists and other special guests made appearances. On Saturday, December 22, Francisco Sánchez, a silversmith from Guadalajara, presented his jewelry line Citlali, which is sold exclusively at Camino Silvestre.
The shop’s owners like to celebrate all the Mexican holidays, such as the Día de la Candelaria (February 2) and Día de los Reyes (Three Kings Day, or Epiphany), and they were especially pleased to celebrate the store’s second anniversary. “We are very lucky. San Miguel’s people have received us with arms wide open, and now we want to repay their kindness,” said co-owner Alfredo García-Lucio.
The shop is known for its wide array of hummingbird feeders but also offers a large selection of gifts, jewelry, books, home accessories and items for children.
