About Alberto Lenz
Born in 1964, Alberto Lenz was trained as an architect and received his degree from Universidad Anahuac. His formal training and his intellectual disposition made him join the ranks of contemporary artistic constructivism and minimalism, after attending both Universidad de Guanajuato as well as Universidad de Iberoamericana where he studied printmaking, drawing and painting. His work can be seen in public as well as private collections in cities such as Querétaro, León, Monterrey and Mexico City as well as in museum collections in Mexico, the USA and Europe.
Lenz’ artistic proposal reveals a minimum and exact geometrical unity: the universal pattern. His figures are stylized to their basic lineal and geometrical expressions, reducing them to pure form and color, thus proving experience as perception in itself, or in other words, sight as the vehicle for the logic of creation. His works stem from rational-logical systems within the processes of design and artistic creation; they are acts of repetition, variation, and combination of essential structures.
