Born at the SPA
By Irene Diamant
I can almost hear Bruce Springsteen singing the story of T.G., Venus, and Dipper. All three were born at the SPA, but their stories and personalities are very different.
T.G. was born at the SPA a year ago, the runt of the litter. He is part Chihuahua and part something else, most likely Terrier, and small enough to fit into an airplane carrier or a large handbag. However chico T.G. is, he thinks he’s a Great Dane. If he knew that his initials stand for Tiny Guy, he’d be mightily upset. In his mind, his initials stand for Tough Guy, a little difficult to reconcile since he’s a real cuddler and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. We do think he will be very protective of those he loves, so maybe he will be able to justify Tough Guy after all. He was born with a can-do, sunny disposition and thinks the world is his playground. While T.G. will be a great and loving companion for anyone, I can especially see him romping with kids. They will have a ball together.
Venus and Dipper were born at the SPA in April 2011, two of nine puppies. They were adopted within a short time by the same person, but came back to the SPA in June 2012 when their owner moved and couldn’t take them with her. They are medium-large, blond, smart, curious and energetic. Venus is very slender and has remarkably beautiful eyes while Dipper has a thicker body than Venus. Dipper always wants to dash around and play with her sister who would much rather get human attention than play with Dipper. That attitude doesn’t discourage Dipper who is persistent in challenging Venus to run and chase her, which ultimately happens. Venus is incredibly agile and can leap circles around and over Dipper.
