We recommend you some place of where to eat, shop and have fun in this beautiful town, so you can spend a perfect day in San Miguel.
Posada Corazón, Aldama 9, 152-0182
You can start your day in this beautiful and relaxing place, having a delicious breakfast where almost all food is organic (from their own garden) and homemade: yogurt, marmalade, bread, baked goods and cookies. The air is very fresh and sweet here, a good place to chat with friends or to read a god book. Gardens are big and very pretty. Breakfast is served from 8am through midday.
Mercado Artesanal/Artisans Market, Andador Lucas Balderas entre Relox y Loreto
Here you can appreciate the most traditional hand-crafts in the city and the region. If you’re looking for gifts that represent Mexico, this is the place to go. You’ll find a large variety of crafts in brass, tin, ceramic, paper machê; jewelry in sterling and German silver, also furniture and home accessories. The market is usually open from 10am thru 5pm everyday.
Hecho en México, Ancha de San Antonio 8, 154-6383
This place is one of the favourite by locals; it offers a large variety of international and Mexican dishes. Everything is good, food is tasty and comforting and the servings are generous. There’s the option of sitting in the patio or inside. Excellent place to take the family.
Las Cuatro Milpas, Barranca esq. Montes de Oca, 152-3416
This a old style Mexican cantina (bar). The place’s décor is inspired by ancient drug stores, but the final turnout is quiet delusional: anywhere you glance, you’ll find some dated and precious trinket, like a Tv from the 40’s, or little glass bottles like in Alice in Wonderland. The house drink is the scorpion mescal, which at first sound frightening, but actually has many health benefits. Besides drinks, there are also tasty Mexican options for dinner, like ostrich or Jamaica tacos (for veggies). Las Cuatro Milpas is open from Tuesdays from Sundays, 2pm-1am.
