Wandering around town

By Jade Arroyo

A little suggested walk through the charming cobbl stone streets of San Miguel

La Felguera, Cuna de Allende 5, 152-8888

La Felguera, a nice option for breakfast, is a pretty and peaceful place, and is also very close to the St. Michael Church and other must-see places. The building that houses it is an historical one. The place is adorable: a sunny patio with cast-iron tables and flowers  everywhere.

Casa Diana, Recreo 48, 152-0885

This gallery is beautiful, features pieces by several contemporary artists; Pedro Friedeberg is among the most renowned ones. The house is an art piece itself; it has fireplaces that resemble giant open mouths of magical characters and chairs with hands and butterfly shapes. They will happily give you a tour of the gallery.

Pescau, Jesús 21, 152-8800

The atmosphere here is quiet contemporary and relaxed. The house specialities are–of course— fish and seafood, Pacific style with a modern twist. The food is impeccable and very tasty. There are also choices in the menu for those who don’t  like fish, like meat or pasta, so all the friends can share the table.

Emelia & Felisa Spa, Recreo 13

Go to this adorable spa to take a break and pamper yourself a little. After running around the city, a pedicure service will be bliss. This place offers massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. It is suggested you make an appointment the previous day, you can always pop in and ask if they can attend you.

La 21única, Jesús esq. Cuadrante, 152-8420

This bar is a modern interpretation of a typical Mexican cantina. There are options for all  palates: tequilas, mescals, cocktails and wines, besides tapas and tasty options for a casual dinner. The regional music gives a fun mood to the place; surely you will have a great time here.
