Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato in gala concert
By Sylvia van Dijk
FAI is an organization which has worked with more than 150,000 children of Guanajuato and Querétaro during the past 20 years. FAI works to promote and defend children’s rights, facilitating the necessary provisions for a sound personal development, to protect children from violence, abuse or neglect and to open spaces for children’s play and learning. An institutional evaluation, done by Filantrofilia in 2011, showed that for every peso we invest in our programs there is a social and economic return to society of 7.63 pesos!
The programs that will benefit from the concert — kindly donated by the Symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato on their 60th anniversary — are four: The regional training center for water management in the community of Las Yerbas in the Municipality of Dolores, the environmental education program in San Miguel de Allende, the program for prevention of street children in León and the support to microenterprise in the Sierra Gorda of Guanajauto.
