Experience a true Day of the Dead celebration and support rural education
By Bruce Rossley
Enjoy the children’s celebration of the Day of the Dead with the village of La Palma and help raise funds to support the Rural Education Institute’s Preparatoria Scholarship Fund. Enjoy food, day of the Dead altars and learn the true meaning of this Mexican cultural celebration which will be held at the La Palma Community Center. The Community Center houses the education program of the Rural Education Institute of Mexico. The organization prepares rural youth for preparatoria (high school) and provides scholarships for rural youth who might otherwise never have the opportunity to attend high school or higher education.
