Perfect day with Bohemian spirit

We propose  a day in San Miguel visiting places which  honor art and good eating and drinking; relaxed places where you can express your artistic side and have fun in an artsy way.

Instituto Allende, Escuela de Artes Visuales y Español, Ancha de San Antonio 22, 15 2-01-90

This iconic art school was one of the first in the city. Besides offering a degree in visual arts, it holds classes and workshops in several art disciplines such as painting, drawing, jewelry, weaving and sculpture.

Fábrica La Aurora, Centro de Diseño, Calzada de la Aurora s/n lun-sáb 10am-6pm

This former textile factory today houses a vibrant design and art center. Galleries, ateliers, jewellery, antiques and interior design shops. Open Mon-Sat 10am-6pm.

Café Muro, Loreto 10B, 15 2-63-41 jue-mart, 9am-4pm

Cafe, restaurant and art gallery. Breakfast is available all day, ideal for late sleepers, or just if you feel like having hot cakes and bacon for lunch. The place has a contemporary feel and nice atmosphere, and there’s an art exhibit going on featuring local artists all the time. Food is mainly artisanal Mexican, but international dishes are also served as well some tasty vegetarian choices. Coffee is excellent and there are some treats like alfajores to satisfy your sweet whim.

Charming little theater located inside the Biblioteca; daily screening of art and contemporary films. To check the weekly programming, go to page 4 of “Que Pasa” supplement. Tickets cost 40 pesos. Tickets can be purchase Mon-Fri 10:30am-7pm.
