Remembering the ‘60s and ‘70s

By Antonio Lozoya

A chance to relive the musical hits of the 1960s and 1970s, when music reflected the dramatic social and political change from the rigid society of the 1950s, will be offered next Wednesday, August 22, at the Teatro Angela Peralta.

Fundraising concert
XVIII International Festival of Jazz and Blues in San Miguel
Remembering the ‘60s and ‘70s
Wed, Aug 22, 7pm
Teatro Ángela Peralta
Cnr Hernández Macías & Mesones
200/100 pesos

The concert will feature the music of Lou Rawls, Billy Witers, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, among others. It will be a tremendous night with great artists of our community such as David Garza, Robert Kaplan, John Odonald, Ken Basman, Gabriel Hernandez, Antonio Lozoya and Victor Monterrubio gathered together for a concert to remember.

This is the second fundraising concert for the XVIII International Festival of Jazz and Blues that will take place from November 15 to 18 this year. We hope that thanks to your participation we will be able to keep this cultural event in San Miguel de Allende, unlike some  other festivals which have left because of lack of support. Each year the festival has presented international artists and many Grammy winners and we continue to offer an attractive billboard.

That’s why we invite you to join us to celebrate this musical evening — and, if you like, to come  wearing the psychedelic outfits of that time. It will be fun and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes: First Place: two tickets to all concerts of the festival, Second Place: two tickets for  two concerts and Third Place: two tickets for one concert.
