Burning vehicles at la Sombra Verde

On Friday, August 10, at the gas station La Sombra Verde, two vehicles (a Tsuru and a caravan truck) were set on fire in addition to the attacks on the tienda at the same place. According to a press release from the General Attorney of Justice and the Federal Secretariat of Public Security, the attacks were reprisals for events which happened in Apatzingan, Michoacan, earlier the same day.

On August 10, due to an operation of the Federal Secretariat of Public Security in a neighborhood of Apatzingán, Michoacán, a confrontation between federal officers and criminals occured. According to the press release, at 8:30pm attacks to gas stations in Guanajuato started in San Miguel de Allende at La Sombra Verde gas station, where those responsible arrived and set on fire to their own two vehicles and later shot up the convenience store at the gas station. Similar events ocurred the same night in municipalities such as Yuriria, Moroleón and Guanajuato, where a car was set on fire in one of the underground roads.

According to the document from the SSP and PGJE, the events were reprisals for certain confrontations in Michoacán. They also informed that several videos of the events, testimonies and evidences for the investigation have been collected. There were no victims.
