Experience heaven on earth San Miguel-style

How can you refresh your mind, body and, particularly, your soul in just one afternoon? Most importantly, how can you help young campo women in need of education?

Mujeres en Cambio July Shanti, Luncheon, Thu, Jul 19, 1pm, Shanti San Miguel in Los Rodríguez community Purchase tickets in advance 200 pesos, Solutions, Mesones 57, or La Conexion, Aldama 3

You can do it all by joining Mujeres en Cambio for our next fabulous luncheon at Shanti. Hindi for “tranquility,” Shanti is San Miguel’s “heaven on earth” day spa and restaurant that will provide both serenity for those attending and luncheon proceeds for our scholarship program.

Mingle with friends, take a refreshing dip in their inviting turquoise salt water pool, sip a cool beverage, just relax – absorb the healing and transforming energies Shanti has to offer. Mela, their intriguing shop featuring an array of carefully chosen handicrafts from India, Turkey and Japan, will be open for those who would like to browse.

Please join us July 19 for a refreshing swim, relaxing afternoon and tasty luncheon at Shanti. Free carpools to the event will leave from St. Paul’s Church at 12:15pm. If you wish to drive there, directions are available at, or at There’s plenty of parking available. Towels and changing rooms (with hair dryers) will be provided for the 1pm swim. Lunch will be served at 2pm and a ceramic tour will round out the afternoon.

Owner Brett Nobel will prepare a tantalizing vegetarian Indian/Thai buffet luncheon, followed by scrumptious ice cream for dessert. Chai (tea) and flavored fruit water will be served and wine will be available for purchase.

To top off this most serene and incredible day, we have arranged a tour of the popular ceramic factory next to Shanti after lunch.  As always, luncheon proceeds help provide much needed scholarships for worthy young campo women hoping to further their education. Joining volunteers and friends of Mujeres en Cambio, you too can bring a piece of “heaven on earth” to these deserving women, helping transform their lives.

Learn how our 17-year-old non-profit organization has advanced educational opportunities for more than two thousand rural Mexican women. We have approximately 150 recipients each year, often including girls from the same family following in their older sister’s footsteps. Not only are these conscientious women helping themselves, they are positively impacting the lives of their family and community.

Tickets are 200 pesos and must be purchased in advance at La Conexion (Aldama 3) or Solutions (Mesones 57). For further information, contact Arlene Krasner (, or go to our website at
