David Garza is an accomplished and extremely versatile singer/songwriter from Texas. He performed with Vudu Chile, a San Miguel rock/funk/blues band, for several years before moving back to the States last winter. His original compositions use a rhythmic, hypnotic guitar-playing style woven with lyrics to create a moving homage to the poetry of everyday life. His Beatles covers are fresh and masterful interpretations that fluctuate between melody and harmony and sometimes jazz-like phrasings that John Lennon would appreciate.

No Beatles fan should miss his shows. His easygoing manner and contagious banter on stage will make you feel that he is sitting in your living room playing only for you.

Miguel Favero is an innovative and accomplished percussionist who has recently toured extensively throughout the United States with Doc Severinsen. “Miguel’s energy on-stage is electric. He’s a magician with a totally different style,” said Garza.

On Friday, July 20, Backyard Productions will kick off the concert weekend by showing two must-see movies for any Beatles fan. The first, to be shown at 3pm, will be The Compleat Beatles, a two-hour documentary chronicling the career of the Fab Four.

The documentary includes extensive interviews, early concert footage, behind-the-scenes stories, and much more. At 6pm, Backyard Productions will show a DVD version of A Hard Day’s Night, the first movie starring the Beatles, which is widely thought to be their best. Between the two movies, beginning at 5:15pm, Garza will perform a short “preview” of his Across the Universe concerts.

Tickets for the Friday kick-off will be 120 pesos each (for one or both movies), including popcorn, a complementary beverage and David’s sneak-preview.

Please no pets or children under 14. Tickets are available at Bajíogo, Jesús 11, Monday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm. Space is limited so there may not be tickets available day of show.
