The Banco Nacional de México (Banamex), through Fomento Cultural Banamex A.C, and along with the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH), presents the exhibition “Independencia y Revolución. Historia y Arte Popular”, (Independence and Revolution, History and Pouplar Art).

Through this exhibition, Fomento Cultural Banamex brings together two different aspects of its work: folk art and history it presents an educational, and at the same time a fresh artistic view of Mexican History, with the charm that only our artisans, “the great masters of popular art”, can put into their creations. Based on a careful selection of passages from the Independence (1810) and Revolution (1910), it shows stages and scenes of both events, as well as representative characters and symbols.

The aim of the exhibition, in addition to enjoying popular art and to have a better knowledge of its brilliant exponents, is to contribute to a better understanding of our past history and provide a better understanding of our present.

La Casa del Mayorazgo de la Canal, Casa de Cultura Banamex, welcomes this new exposition, opening to the public on May 7, from 9 to 6pm, and continues its mission through all the cultural activities, and personal attention in their show rooms: video and cyber-book, library and guided tours.
