Experience “April in Paris” San Miguel style
By Terri Peterson
If you…”never knew the charm of spring, never met it face to face, never knew your heart could sing” …. you will want to experience “April in Paris” San Miguel style.
Bask in the charm of spring with Mujeres en Cambio volunteers, sip wine and mingle face to face with members and friends as you enjoy a sumptuous French-themed luncheon al fresco in the lovely gardens of Hacienda de las Flores. Fantastic quiche provided by Cafe Monet will be served with sides and our wildly popular desserts made by Mujeres members.
As a special feature, and in keeping with the April in Paris theme, Arlena Lawrence will demonstrate how to make madeleines. Arlena, a trained chef, owned a bakery in New York City for five years and made and sold thousands of madeleines in her bakery and at Balducci’s (a high end gourmet shop).
Mujeres en Cambio’s monthly luncheons provide funds for 97 percent of our scholarships, which give the gift of education to deserving young women. Your heart will sing as you further the educational opportunity of a disadvantaged Mexican woman. Her heart will sing when she receives a scholarship, which will help provide for tuition, books, transportation and other essentials she needs to continue her schooling.
Our scholarships, given yearly to approximately 150 qualified young women, enable continued education for middle school, high school and college. Mujeres en Cambio is dedicated to funding these most important years of schooling. Your involvement will further help these women to pursue their dreams.
Our upcoming April 25th event will be Mujeres en Cambio’s last luncheon prior to our summer hiatus. Please note that this luncheon is on Wednesday, not our usual Thursday. We will return in July with a special event.
Tickets (150 pesos) for the luncheon must be purchased in advance and are available at La Conexion, Aldama 3, and Solutions, Mesones 57.
