The public/private San Miguel de Allende

Spring is almost here, and can be appreciated in the public and private gardens in the city, filled with colored flowers and chirping birds. From these spaces, visitors to San Miguel de Allende are enabled to uncover the hidden city.

Instituto Allende Ancha de San Antonio 22 Centro, escuela Lun-Sáb 8am-6pm, área de eventos, Lun-Dom 9am-10pm

This building dates from the 18th century; its extended construction occupies almost the half of Ancha de San Antonio Street. It is a complex divided in two areas, the school which offers paint, sculpture and Spanish classes among others. It shelters a huge beautiful garden, surrounded by classroom where visitors can stroll and admire the creation of works of art by the students. The school also has a library which conserves the thesis written by the students of the school, which can be consulted.

The events area shelters art galleries such as: La Pérgola, El Taller Universe del Arte, Bazar Rosa Mexicano. Its huge walls are decorated with murals by David Leonardo, a Sanmiguelense artist. A central fountain invites to relaxation while a coffee from El Café is enjoyed.

Nearby el Instituto, a French style park is located, art is placed everywhere, and in Saturdays local artist hold art exhibitions with the event “Jardìn del Arte” Garden of Art. .
