Architectural forum addresses mutability
Each year, architecture students at the Universidad de León hold an architectural forum. This year, the forum addresses the concept of “mutability,” looking at the tranformation of inhabitable spaces. The architecture forum, open to the general public, will include three lectures by Alfredo Cano, an architect who in Morelos created a guesthouse called “tubohotel” built with concrete pipes two meters in diameter. A group of architects from Nuevo León will also offer a lecture; these architects launched a program of low-income housing by converting railway cars to houses. Also, David Vaner will talk about how current architecture must be adapted to nature, not vice versa.
University of León Architecture Forum: Sat, March 24, 8:30am–1pm. Teatro Ángela Peralta, cnr. Mesones & H. Macías. 360 pesos. In Spanish. Info: 415-124-3831
