Red carpet Oscar night for Ojalá literacy program
By Elsmarie Norby
Ojalá Niños invites you to celebrate the night of the Oscars from Hollywood in ‘red carpet’ style at the patio garden of Casa de la Noche.
Red carpet Oscar Night: A benefit for Ojalá Niños. Sun, Feb 26, 5:30pm. Casa de la Noche, Bordello Gallery, Órganos 19. 150 pesos
Guests are invited to dress up– or not – enjoy the show on a large screen, partake of delicious starters offered by local caterers, and a bar serving wines and punch. Only 100 tickets will be available at 150 pesos each, to benefit the new Ojalá literacy program.
Ojalá Niños is a nonprofit program which offers afternoon classes weekdays in
art disciplines, theater arts, music, and Spanish literacy (reading and writing) to over 100 children in the rural community of San Miguel Viejo. The children range in age from 3-16, so it is essential to plan appropriate, effective curriculums for four age levels. Classes are already happening for the youngest children, thanks to a grant from the Temple Foundation. But much more is needed to fulfill the dream for the older children. Your presence at Red carpet Oscar night will provide these funds.
Tickets, while they last, will be available at four La Conexión sites – Aldama, Café Monet, Libramiento, Longhorn Restaurant. You may also order from: firstname.lastname@example.org
See you at Red Carpet Oscar Night!
