The works by Mercedes Arsuaga at Moyshen The Gallery
By Gabriela Epstein
Textures shaded with selective and well balanced colours, where geometrical figures or simple sketches merge with words or phrases with a profound meaning; bicycles, birds, luggage, clocks, time — these are the elements that are frequently found in Mercedes’ artwork. Everyday life, family scenes, and local traditions come to life with great imagination and creativity.
Art: Works by Mercedes Arsuaga. Sat, Feb 4, 5-9pm. Moyshen The Gallery, Fábrica La Aurora
Unforeseen situations and emotions drove Mercedes to express herself artistically. Cotidian situations are part of the inspiration that, without a doubt, achieve perfect order and balance and are magnificently reflected in her paintings.
Very few artists lay their heart as childishly and naively on the canvas as does Mercedes Arsuaga. She is a genuine and living testament of how the most fundamental feelings are represented.
“I thrive when I create spaces and shapes filled with colour and textures that allow me to share my feelings and encapsulate my emotions in a natural way. I try to create art that speaks for itself and is a reflection of my soul.
Art has been a mechanism to heal my soul, providing the space my imagination needed. I have been able to capture the colour of my feelings, reflecting them on every single trace of my paintings. I strive to make the audience an accomplice in my artwork by involving them deeply and capturing their attention”
