Tablao flamenco

By María García Esperón

One of the most enriching experiences is to attend a flamenco tablao. Raised in Andalusia in the mid-nineteenth century, flamenco guitar and singing have been the crucible that forged the great figures of dancing.

Unlike theater, where flamenco acquired connotations of stagecraft, the one in the tablao becomes an opportunity for close and warm human communication, where emotions flow from the public and where performers share the wide range of feelings.

Dance & Music: Misterios Flamencos. Fridays, Jan & Feb, 5pm. Café Teatro Athanor, Correo 37. 200 pesos. Reservations 044-415-103-3709

A telepathic communication occurs between the interpreter and the public. It is as if their minds were connected in the same frequency, as if sharing a landscape where there are no language barriers or culture, but only the intensity of human emotions.

In the Café Teatro Athanor de San Miguel Allende, the strong and intimate experience of the tablao flamenco is occurring with the group Mi Luna Flamenca, in an atmosphere of warm magic, emotional communication, music and poetry, mystery and fairy.
