Five more vehicles for the Public Security Department

On January 16, Mayor Luz María Núñez, in a symbolic ceremony, handed over five new vehicles for the Public Security Department for a more secure municipality. The investment was 1,623,000 pesos, coming from the federal program SUBSEMUN (Subsidy for the Municipal Security). These vehicles are equipped with a lights bar, siren and radio communication equipment and are already operating in the city. The vehicles are using national institutional colors. Currently the municipal government announced that San Miguel will be benefit once again this year with the federal financial resource, to be used in training for the police officers, equipment and infrastructure. The council of tourism has new president

Formerly, the presidency of the tourism council was occupied by the Mayor. In a plenary ordinary session, the city council agreed to modify the agreement of creation of that institution by adding “The presidency of the tourism council will be occupied by a member of the private initiative.” For that reason, in an extraordinary meeting, the Tourism Council elected as president the manager of Rosewood Hotel & Resort, Christian Tavelli. Mayor Núñez stated that the modification of the agreement of creation of the council is a great achievement of this municipal government in its intent to turn it into a citizens` council. Flowers, plants and culture at Parque Benito Juárez

The Candelaria Fair took place for the first time in 1956 in our city in order to bless the seeds ready to be sown. This year, it will be held from January 27 through February 6 in Parque Benito Juárez. This fair will shelter 120 local and foreigner exhibitors, who will be offering plants, flowerpots, flowers and gardening tools. During the fair, additional activities will be offered, such as concerts, environmental educational workshops, Mexican movies, lectures, among other activities.
