House & Garden Tour

Casa 1

Designed and built by owner Jean Jacobson, this home is located in the new development of Vista Antigua, positioned for an extraordinary view of historic San Miguel. Every home is required to have a façade of Colonial style with freedom to do as you please with interior rooms. The main living spaces of the home are on the upper level to allow for an uninterrupted view of the town. The interior style of the home is eclectic, with a mix of old Mexican and contemporary. Doors throughout are old Mexican, floors polished cement, Mexican folk art is sprinkled throughout the home along with contemporary art, Jean, an interior designer, uses local artisans for her custom designed lighting, mirrors and furnishings. She and her husband Richard arrived in San Miguel from Palo Alto, California 14 years ago.

Casa 2

Diane and Billy Largman have been in San Miguel since 1991, and this is the “4th and last house” they have built. They saw this property 7 years ago when it was little more than a stable and, since they were avid horse people, fell in love with it. They completely renovated this property on their own. They tried to retain some of the features of the original stable, i.e. the ceiling and the grooming hooks in the living and dining area, while adding an additional wing with 3 more bedrooms and a beautiful outdoor sala. The garden was designed by Timothy Wachter and is a focal point of many of the rooms of this home. Besides being on a lovely, quiet Street within walking distance of El Centro, “Los Establos”, also boasts beautiful views of the city and the surrounding countryside.
