La Biblioteca has touched our lives in so many ways, come to the following important meetings so can you be assured of a positive future for La Biblioteca.

The annual meeting of the Biblioteca Publica de San Miguel Allende will be on February 10 at 11 AM in the Sala Quetzal.
The annual meeting comprises of the President’s report of developments at La Biblioteca during the past year and the Treasurer’s financial report. In addition, any member who wishes to ask questions or make suggestions for future development will be given the opportunity, though we request that members contact the General Manager, Sandra Suaste to be included.
The election of Board members will be held Friday, March 2, from 10:30am until 2:30pm in the courtyard of the Biblioteca. Four positions on the Board are open for election in March. They are: President, Assistant Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and one Member at Large as recommended by the Nominating committee.
The following candidates are recommended by the Nominating Committee to fill these positions:
Assistant Treasurer–Francisco Lara Gallegos
Recording Secretary–Anna Magliacano
Member at Large–Roberto A. Lichtenberg Popper
All recommendations were approved. Brief statements from each candidate will be published in the Atención in early February after any additional candidates who want to appear on the ballot have had the opportunity.
If you would like to run for one of the above offices, you can as an ‘Independent candidate’ by submitting a petition signed by at least 25 Biblioteca members at least 30 days before the election. February 1 is the deadline. All candidates’ profiles will be published in Atención. You must be a member of the Biblioteca to be on the ballot. All cardholders are members.

If you are interested in becoming involved with the Biblioteca in another capacity, please send an email firstname.lastname@example.org and state your interest. There is much that can be done for youth programs, fundraising, public awareness, special events, and literary development. The House and Garden Tour, and La Tienda all can use volunteers.
Member apathy is rampant. Give a damn. Get involved. Gracias.
